Kneeling Before the Almighty Rescuer

His shirt says, "Thank the Lord!" This action suggests it is not just a cliché.

Giving thanks to God is an act of worship that is priority in the eyes of God. It is thanklessness that defines a wicked person and society (Romans 1:20). Here, this humble miner kneels to God before two Presidents of nations and the eyes of the world and gives credit to whom credit is due.

I wish Americans were more overtly devotional in their worship. I do not know what this man’s status in Christ is, but I do know that for the brief moments he silently knelt upon entering the daylight after 69 days in a tomb he drew the attention of the world to the Real Rescuer. I hope his grateful heart leads him to God who not only rescued his body, but is able to save his soul.
